poker

Texas hold 'em, no limit. Two cards each, face down. Then five shared cards come out: the flop (three), the turn and the river, with a round of betting before each and one more after the river. Make the best five-card hand from your two and the five on the table.

Hands, best first:

  1. royal flush
  2. straight flush
  3. four of a kind
  4. full house
  5. flush
  6. straight
  7. three of a kind
  8. two pair
  9. a pair
  10. high card

On your turn fold, check (when nothing is owed), call the bet, or raise. The raise row has plus and minus, half the pot, the pot, and all in; only the yellow button commits. Aces can go high or low in a straight.

The table. Everyone starts with a thousand chips. The button moves left each hand, the two seats after it post the small and big blind, and the blinds go up every eight hands. If two people are left, the button posts the small blind. Run out of chips and you are out; the last one with chips wins. When someone is all in for less, the extra money goes in a side pot they cannot win.

The chips are only chips. Empty seats play themselves.

Sounds covers the card and chip noises, and the slider next to it covers everything. Music plays soft ambient music. Night mode warms the screen for a dark room. Chill mode turns all three on for late nights. Every switch is remembered on this device.
